It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Peter Horst Fritz on March 13th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Kamloops Hospice.
Peter was born in Baden-Baden, Germany July 20th,1949. He immigrated to Eston, Saskatchewan at the age of ten where his parents owned the Eston Bakery & Cafe. In his late teens, he took up flying lessons and after graduating, Peter moved to Swift Current and began a flying career with Melair and later moved to Edmonton to become a commercial pilot. He chose to end his flying career when his parents called him to help out with the family business in Kamloops known as Fortune Bakery which later became Fritz Bakery. Prior to retiring Peter was the Bakery manager at Valleyview Cooper’s store which is now Save On Foods.
Peter’s relaxing time was fishing & camping at Heffley and Dutch Lake.
When Peter’s daughter, Tammie was five he started coaching her soccer team which continued on for a number of years. Peter was her biggest cheer leader attending numerous events and skating competitions.
Peter enjoyed being a Grandpa and was very involved in the grandchildren’s lives.
To them he was Grandpa Uber who was always available to take them wherever they needed to go. Peter cherished these one on one moments.
Peter will be dearly missed by his loving wife Debbie, daughter Tammie (Ben) and grandchildren Haille, Abby, Jonah, Seth, Allie, Noah, Aiden, and Logan. Niece and nephew Jamie (Steve) and Brent (Christina, Emi & Ruby). Special friend Helga, and schwester Susi and family in Germany and several other relatives.
Peter was predeceased by his parents Walter & Anita, his brother Mickey and his sister-in-law Johanna.

A Celebration Of Life will be held on Saturday, April 05,2025 at 1:00 pm at Kamloops Full Gospel, 1550 Tranquille Road.
