March 03, 1958 – December 21, 2014
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandy. While surrounded by her loving family, Sandy passed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on December 21, 2014.
Sandy fought a victorious battle with pancreatic cancer in 2008, only to have it return earlier this year. Her positive and unyielding attitude was an inspiration to all who knew her. She fought a courageous battle right to the end.
Sandy is survived by her soul mate and loving husband, Mark and companion Joey. Also left to mourn Sandy’s passing are her father, Terry McDonnell, sisters Trish (Robert) Thellend, Carole (Brian) Popp, brother Jamie (Colleen) as well as numerous relatives and Mark’s family, mother Liz, sister Karen (Scott) Beacom, brothers Dave, Paul (Darla) and Mike (Shannon). Sandy was predeceased by her mother, Elaine in 2004 and brother, Greg in 2005.
The family would like to thank Dr Scudamore, Dr Proctor and Dr Ferran and the incredible staff at Kamloops Hospice for the compassionate and loving care given to Sandy throughout her battle.
Sandy did not wish to have a formal service and in keeping with her wishes, a private family Roman Catholic Memorial Service will be held on December 29, 2014, officiated by Father Fred Weisbeck.
A celebration of life for the many friends and acquaintances that knew Sandy will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Kamloops Hospice, 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, BC V2E 2S9 (www.kamloopshospice.com)
