In Loving Memory of Simerjit Kaur Theara
With heavy hearts, we remember and honour Simerjit Kaur Theara, born July 31, 1941, beloved daughter of Pritam Singh Bains and Gurbachan Kaur. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gurdial Singh Theara.
She was a loving mother to Kuldeep Kaur Basran, Surjit Singh Theara, and Sharnjit Kaur Basi; an adored grandmother to Jagmohan Basran, Jagvinder Basran, Gavin Basi, Jasmeen Theara, and Arvin Theara; and a proud great-grandmother to Kaiyra Basran, Mahi Basran, and Devyn Basran. She was also a cherished mother-in-law to Satnam Basran, Parmjit Theara, and Rob Basi.
Simerjit was a woman of great kindness, strength, and unwavering love, whose life was devoted to her family. She brought joy to all who knew her, always wearing a beautiful, gentle smile that could brighten any room. Her presence was calming, her words were thoughtful, and her love was constant.
After arriving in Canada in April 1975, she built a life rooted in hard work, resilience, and dedication to her family. She carried her values with pride and created a warm and welcoming home that reflected both her strength and her deep love for those around her.
She had a special love for style and an incredible attention to detail. Whether it was how she dressed, cared for her home, or prepared for gatherings, everything she did was done with thoughtfulness and grace. She took pride in creating beauty in everyday moments, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Her warmth, wisdom, and caring spirit touched everyone she met. Her home was always open, offering love, guidance, and comfort to family, friends, and community alike.
She leaves behind not only cherished memories, but a legacy of compassion, strength, and unity. The values she lived by will continue to guide her family for generations to come.
Simerjit will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who loved her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit, love, and light will remain with us always.
