Clayton Campbell Clemont

October 18, 1997 to August 31, 2019

 It is with heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of our son Clayton Clemont on Saturday Aug 31, 2019 at the young age of 21.

Left to mourn this loss are his parents Jordan and Shelly Clemont and his sister Grace. Clayton is predeceased by his Papa Jim. Also mourning this loss are his Grandparents Val Clemont, Norm and Lynne Scramstad, Uncle Jason Uncle Scotty (Desi) Odessa, Nate and Kaden as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

Clayton started his education at Westmount Elementary. Clayton graduated from Westsyde Secondary School with the persistence and determination of his favourite teacher Janet Berness.

Clayton started work for Cobra Heavy Iron Ltd at a very young age, where he met his mentor (brother) Koyne Watson. Their bond never diminished. Later he joined the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115 and started work at BA Dawson Blacktop with his dad.

Clayton was a hard-working, loyal, kind soul. He loved dirt biking spending time at the lake, eating pizza and chicken wings with his family & friends. He was always trying to protect his little sister Grace from the world. Now he can do it from up above.

We will love and miss you Forever.

Clayton’s life was celebrated on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at the Coast Canadian Inn, Kamloops.

Shirley Lockwood 1934 — 2019

Shirley Lockwood

Shirley Lockwood, of Kamloops BC, passed away on Sunday, September 08, 2019 at 84 years of age. She is survived by her loving husband, Don Lockwood, her children Greg (Kelly) Lockwood of Kamloops BC, Maryanne (Tom Carpenter) Lockwood of Blairmore, Alberta, and Charlene (Dwight Unouyeno) Ross of Chilliwack BC, her grandchildren Dane (Amy) Lockwood of Kamloops BC, Taylor (Jason) Richard of Kamloops BC, Tori (Mitch Shaw) Lockwood of Maple Ridge BC, Kyle Bartel of Squamish BC, Cody Bartel of Squamish BC, Hayley (Shaun Monty) Ross of Vancouver BC and Brennan (Danielle) Ross of Chilliwack BC, great grandchild Oliver Lockwood , and numerous relatives, friends and loved ones. She was born in Daly, Manitoba in 1934, moved to Vancouver when she was 6 and then on to Penticton at age 12. It was in Penticton in 1950, that Shirley met the love of her life, Don Lockwood,  and the two were married in 1956. They were blessed with three wonderful children, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. During their marriage, they moved several times, returning to Kamloops in 2009. On August 18, 2019, Shirley and Don celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. Shirley is finally at peace but will forever remain in our hearts. Shirley’s Celebration of life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2009 in the Kamloops Funeral Home at 285 Fortune Drive. Special thank you to the staff at Overlander Long Term Care Facility. Memorial donations in Shirley’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC or to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Lorraine Marion Castro (nee Skryme)

April 7 1942 – January 9  2019

Lorraine passed away suddenly in Kelowna B.C.

Lorraine born in Vernon,  enjoyed her early years in Grindrod.B.C.  and graduated grade 12 from  Enderby high school and attended grade 13  in Vernon B.C.

Continuing her education, Lorraine attended and completed her teaching degree at the “College of Victoria”.  After teaching in Port Alberni she focused her skills and had a successful career as a pioneering female real estate agent in Salmon Arm.  Lorraine also operated many businesses in B.C. and Europe.

Lorraine spent most of her years on and off in the Salmon Arm and Kamloops area.Read More & Leave Condolences »

Carol Hicks 1942 — 2019

Carol Hicks

Carol was born in England and moved to Edmonton when she was one year old. Carol Lived In Edmonton for many years where she would meet and marry her high school sweetheart, David Hicks. They were married for over 40 years until David’s death in 2011.  They started their own business (Interior Crafts) which they operated for about 30 years. Carol is survived by her three sons Daniel, Darren and Dean (Shawna) and her grandchildren Sheldon, Declan and Dawson, brother David (Cindy) and sister in-law Linda (David).  Carol spent the last 5 years of her life at Ridgeview Lodge where she enjoyed having her grandson Dawson come visit and share mint chocolate patties with her. Those were her two most favourite things (Dawson and Chocolate). There will be no formal service at this time but if decided on, it will be a small private gathering for family. The family would like to thank the staff at Ridgeview Lodge for the care over the last 5 years, especially Lisa for the time spent with her at the end.

Vincent Raymond O’Hara 1923 — 2019

Vincent Raymond O’Hara

December 28, 1923 to August 31, 2019

Vince left our world to be with his Lord, finally, dying peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of August 31, 2019 at 95 years of age. Vince was the youngest of 14 children born to Michael and Amanda O’Hara and the devoted husband of Mae O’Hara who passed away January 1, 2009. He was predeceased by all of his siblings and their spouses, so he was the last of the M. O’Hara’s! He has 31 nieces and nephews and their various families all over BC, Alberta and Oregon. Vince served in the Royal Canadian Navy in World War II and did 14 crossings of the North Atlantic. He was a faithful member of the Knights of Columbus and Legion member in Kamloops, where he and Mae ran the business of Mae’s Rug and Upholstery cleaning for years. His last years were spent at Ridgeview Lodge, where he had excellent care. We will miss his crooked grin and sparkling Irish eyes! Our Lady Perpetual Help, guide him home.

 

The Funeral Mass will recited at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Following the service, Vince will be laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery with his beloved Mae. Celebrant, Father Vijay Martin, OCD.
