Orville Clyde Persing

Orville Clyde Persing, resident of Kamloops, B.C. passed away on March 25, 2018 at the age of 89 years old surrounded by family. He was born To Hazel Benjamin and Lillie May (nee Steward) Persing on March 14, 1929 in Salem, Oregon, U.S.A. He lived in Oregon and California before moving to Canada at the the age of nine. His family moved and settled in Prince George, B.C.

 

Orville married Ester Tondell on August 21,1953, his wife of more than 64 years. They made their first home in Prince George on the poultry farm. They later moved to Dawson City, Yukon where Orville pastored a church and worked at the Northern Commercial Company. He also started his radio ministry on the local radio station there.

 

Following their seven year stay in Dawson City they moved to Penticton, B.C. for one year. They then moved on to Greenwood, B.C. to start a new church called Evangel Chapel. While in Greenwood he started a new radio broadcast which he called “Gospel Gems.” His broadcasts were heard in the West Indies and then later in Africa. He also worked as the custodian of the local school to support his family.  He was the pastor of the church in Greenwood until the age of 80 years old, showing his perseverance and desire to serve the Lord.

 

He was a loving husband and father to his three sons and three daughters. His family appreciated his helping hands on numerous occasions. He always put others first and endured hardships without complaint. He was gentle and kind to all and had a great love for others. Milan Perkovic 1926 — 2018

Milan Perkovic

Milan Perkovic of Kamloops , BC passed away on March 18, 2018 shortly after his 92nd birthday . He fled his beloved Croatia as a young man, coming to Canada to make a better life. Milan is survived by many friends and family worldwide. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 4th at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 635 Tranquille Road, Kamloops, BC.  Those wishing to pay their respects by viewing may do so at the church between 9:30 and 10:30 AM on the day of the service.  Interment in the Prince George Memorial Cemetery  will be held on April 20th at noon.

Patrick Maurice Stroulger 1924 — 2018

Patrick Maurice Stroulger

Pat passed away peacefully on the evening of Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the age of 94.

Pat was born in Enderby, BC on February 17, 1924 to Katherine and Lawson Stroulger and grew up on the family farm on Grandview Bench in the North Okanagan. An entrepreneurial young man, he turned his hand from farming to business owning a gas station and garage, car dealership and taxi service as well as driving the local school bus.

December 6, 1937 – February 14, 2018

 

John Lundquist, also known as “J.C. or Mitzi” to his friends in Winnipeg and Kamloops, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. He was born on December 6, 1937 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. John was raised in Winnipeg and developed an appreciation for Nice Cars and a love of pets and wildlife. John was a long time member of the LGBT community, and was proud to hear a “Public Apology” in the House of Commons last fall over issues that had impacted many in his generation as well as himself.  John worked for many years in the Pipeline Industry for a variety of companies.  He had a passion for politics, and was active in the Liberal Party for many years. John was well respected and will be dearly missed by all of his colleagues that worked with him on the many mainline pipeline projects he worked on across Canada. There will be a Celebration of life in the spring/early summer when his ashes will be spread. His insight and witty intellect will be fondly remembered.

He was a beloved brother to Lily Gibson, her children William, John and Ingrid, and is also survived by his niece and nephews and his Special friends Jim Kane and Arnie Stefaniuk.  John was predeceased by his parents, sisters Shirley and Ingrid and brother in-law William Gibson.

Joyce Muriel Reeb

 

It is with heavy hearts and great sorrow that we announce the passing of my sister Joyce. She was born and raised in Campbellton, NB but spent most her life in Kamloops, BC. She is predeceased by her soul mate, and the love of her life Barry and also her son Kenneth. She is survived by her loving son Kevin, three grandchildren Kyle, Khayle, Katelyn, her loving sister Jean, nephews Allen, Rick (Brandie) and their children Ocean Pearl and Summer Isabella. Also her brother in-law Terry, Lanny and Robin and numerous other relatives.

Joyce was a wonderful mother and her family always came first. She also loved taking care of flowers and  would always find her in her garden. She was loved by all who knew her.  There is no service by request.Read More & Leave Condolences »
