Burk Thomas Roblin 1954 — 2017

Burk Thomas Roblin

It is with profound sadness & heartbreak on November 28th, Burk left us.  He was      born May 29, 1954 in Mission, BC, passed away in his home in Chase, BC surrounded by his loving family.  He fought a 15 month battle with pancreatic/liver cancer with strength & dignity.

Burk worked 36 years for Canadian Pacific Railway happily retiring in May, 2009, he was planning his retirement party for 12 years prior so it had to be a fun, happy occasion, with a live band, dance floor he built & 120 of his closest family & friends!  He loved his hot rod, his “beautiful wife”(his words), his children & grandchildren more than life itself.  He was a Mr. Fix-it, woodwork, cement work, jack of all trades kinda guy, always there to help anyone with anything, not wanting anything in return.  Burk had many, many friends still some close to him from his younger years of being a “wild child”.  He loved boating on the Shuswap, the many fun times for the past 9 yrs at the cabin with family & friends, working on the golf course with his buddy Rae, golfing, the many destination & motorhome travels we took, mudbogging,  & being able to finish & drive his hot rod. Many thanks to his special friends Dag & Kevin for making it happen this year.  Burk is survived by his soulmate & love of his life, wife Sharon, daughters’ Cyndi (Kim) Deck, Chestermere, Alta, Alana (Doug) Hill, Revelstoke, BC, sons’ Michael (Jennifer) Roblin, Claresholm, Alta. Shaun (Kelsey) Roblin, Richmond, BC & his precious grandchildren Hannah & Brooklyn Deck, Dawson & Lukas Hill, Quinton & Elizabeth Roblin, & our newest grandbaby Sawyer Joseph Roblin, his beloved sister Dee Keene (Glenn) Kamloops, Brother Rick (Claudette) Kelowna, many nieces & nephews whom he loved with all his heart. Burk was predeceased by his father & mother Gordon Thomas & Eunice Roblin.Read More & Leave Condolences »

Ronald Roy Bredesen 1947 — 2017

Ronald Roy Bredesen

Ron passed away in Kamloops on Friday, December 1.  He was predeceased by his father, Roy and his mother, Martha.  He leaves behind his wife, Jeanette, his three sons, Rayn, Derek (Josie) and Court (Danette) sister, Lois and brother, Brian (Claire).

Born in Camrose, Alberta, Ron was the apple of his father Roy’s eye and his mother Martha’s number one son.  A child of the fifties, he played hard but had to work hard too.  He often told the story of coming home from school to straighten nails that he and his dad collected from discarded railway ties – nails his dad used to build their house.  Money wasn’t plentiful but Ron’s childhood was happy.

The family moved to Grande Prairie when Ron was in his teens. Ron was athletic, musical and mechanically inclined. He played guitar in a local band (The Sneakers), was on the basketball team, participated in ski jumping competitions and was passionate about cars and motorcycles.

After graduation, Ron worked for NCR and Safeway.  He found his niche when he was hired by Beaver Lumber and moved to Forestburg.  A hands on kind of guy, Ron quickly became Manager. During this time, Ron met and married his first wife and adopted her son (Derek).

In the mid-seventies, Ron was transferred to High Level, Alberta where his two boys (Rayn and Court) were born. Life in Northern Alberta suited Ron.  Active in the community he was a member of the volunteer fire department and chairman of the Alberta Housing Authority. He loved the outdoors – quading, snowmobiling, fishing and camping. Read More & Leave Condolences »
