Bonnie Beulah K. Klassen

May 26, 1926 ~ January 8, 2015

 We are saddened to announce the passing of Bonnie Klassen of Kamloops, BC, on January 8, 2015. She is survived by five sons; Larry (Marty) of Prince George, BC, Leonard of Cebu, Philippines, Donald of Kamloops, BC, Peter (Jan) of Surrey, BC, and Randy (Leslie) of Kamloops, BC; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John B Klassen in 1998 and grandson Todd Klassen in 1982. Bonnie was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She moved to Vernon in 1964 and work for the Army Cadets for many years. Bonnie had many hobbies and she loved to enter her baking, preserves and quilting in the Armstrong Fair. Bonnie will be loved and missed by all of her family and friends. Our family would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the Kamloops Funeral Home.

The Memorial Service for Bonnie will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 10, 2015 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Dr., with Pastor Vern Frudd officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home, 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, BC  V2E 2S9.

Katharina “Kathy” Blower (nee Beck) 1927 — 2015

Katharina “Kathy” Blower (nee Beck)

Katharina “Kathy” Blower (nee Beck) passed away at 88 years of age, peacefully in her sleep. She will be missed by her sons Dieter ( Rosi ), Roy ( Jill) , Ramsey ( Sherry) and daughter  Leona, brother Micheal & sister Martha, as well as several nieces & nephews  in Germany, her grandchildren Rudiger , Thorsten,and Corrina in Germany and Megan & Brooke of Kamloops, and great grandchildren Maximillion and Benjamin also in Germany. Predeceased by her son John (1961) and husband Les Blower (1988). Kathy was born in Wernsdorf, Germany on January 25, 1927 and moved to Canada in 1954 at 27 years of age. She settled in Kamloops B.C. in 1958, then worked at R.I.H. off and on over the years until 1996.

 Kathy was loved by all family and friends, and will be in our hearts for ever.

 The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 27. 2015 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Dr., with Pastor Andrew Picklyk officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Kathy’s memory would be appreciated by the family.

Roy Joseph Rozeck 1937 — 2015

Roy Joseph Rozeck

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of our husband and father, Roy Joseph Rozeck on February 6, 2015.  Dad was born on November 26, 1937 in Kimberley, BC.  He met his wife Louise in Clinton, BC and they were married in August of 1963.  They moved to Kamloops and raised their family.  Roy worked for the School District for 25 years. In the last couple of years, we bought our dad an IPAD and he was introduced to the computer world of slots, texting and facebook.  He loved keeping in touch and up to date with what his friends and family were up to. Roy was predeceased by his father Joseph, mother Olive, stepfather Wally Fleishman, and brother’s Norman and Ron.  Roy will be lovingly remembered by his wife Louise, children Connie (Rob de la Gorgendiere), Dan (Sharleen Ivanauskas), Tracy (Shane Armstrong), grandchildren Tyler Armstrong, Quinton Armstrong (Emma Christy), and Alyssa and Jagger de la Gorgendiere.  He is also survived by his brothers Art (Sandy), Larry (Kelly) and numerous nieces and nephews.Read More & Leave Condolences »

Anne Rivett 1930 — 2015

January 12, 1930 – March 10, 2015.

Anne Rivett of Kamloops, B.C., passed away on March 10, 2015 at 3:30 pm at the age of 85 years. She is survied by her loving children, Paul Rivett (Karen) of Toronto, Ontario, Karen SanCartier (David) of Kelowna, B.C., Robert Rivett (Kathy) of Surrey B.C., Alan Rivett of Kamloops B.C. She will be missed by her grandchildren; Luke, Angela (Marlon), Crystal, Samantha (Craig), David, Matthew, Jessica, Roxanne, Andrew (Jennifer). great grandchildren; Kya, Owen, Zaria and Brielle. Predeceased by her husband Paul Rivett Sr. her brother, John Allen and her sisters, Ann Unilowski and Marg Johnson.

Anne Rivett was born, Ann Unilowski, of Roundhill, Alberta, on January 12/1930, to Mike and Mary. Anne married Paul Rivett in the mid 1950’s in Edmonton, Alberta. They had two children, Paul Jr and Karen. They then moved to Surrey B.C. where they had two more children, Robert and Alan. In 1970, the family moved to Kamloops B.C. Anne’s husband, Paul, passed away July 16, 2013. She has been in the Pinegrove nursing home for the last few years, where she had Alzheimer’s. Anne enjoyed gardening as one of her hobbies. She has worked at Sears, in the Garden Centre for many years and she was involved with the local Garden Club.

Anne’s Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 am, in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Dr. Donations may be made in memory of Anne to the Alzheimer Society of BC, 300 – 828 West 8th Ave. Vancouver, B.C. V5Z 1E2

Olga Lazarchuk 1922 — 2015

Olga Lazarchuk

June 20, 1922 – March 14, 2015

Dr Olga Lazarchuk of Kamloops, B.C passed away, surrounded by her devoted family on March 14, 2015 at 92 years of age. She is survived by her loving daughter, Marta (Dan) Wildemann of Kamloops and son Oleh Lazarchuk of Williams Lake. Also, left with treasured memories are relatives Mary and Don Bodnar and family of Edmonton, AB, Zonia and Tania Hadym of Kamloops B.C. and special feline friend ‘Burko’ (Timber). Predeceased by her parents Anna and Theophil Hadymowsky of Ukraine, beloved husband Dr Myron Lazarchuk, brother Stanley and wife Olha Hadym and niece Anna Szumylo.

Born June 20, 1922 in Lviv, Ukraine. She married Myron in 1944 and together they studied medicine in Vienna, Austria. After graduating from medicine in 1947 they came by boat to Canada, leaving Genoa, Italy and landing in Halifax, NS. They travelled by train to Edmonton, AB where they worked for a short while before transferring to Prince Rupert. She then interned at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, did a pediatric residency at Children’s hospital then moved back to Prince Rupert and Hazelton. Olga and Myron settled in Kamloops in 1955 where she practiced general medicine until her retirement in 1994. She enjoyed knitting, cross-stiching, cooking, gardening visiting friends at her home and spending time with her family at their cabin at Peter Hope Lake.Read More & Leave Condolences »
