
We are saddened to announce the passing of Bruce Henry George of Kamloops, BC, on February 18th, 2014 at age 81. Bruce is survived by his loving wife Myrna, children Sheryl (Lou) Grande and Lorri (Murray) Cagnetta, both of Kamloops. Also left to cherish Bruce’s memory are grandchildren Lisa (Reg) Pain of Kamloops, brother-in-law Gerry Leighton of Calgary, AB, and sister-in-law Rita Leighton of New Westminster, BC, as well as numerous nieces & nephews, and his long time friend Bob Bonderud .He is predeceased by his brother, Hale Bradsen, and sister, June Love.

Eugenie (Genie) Savidan, 89, entered into eternal peace on Monday, February 17, 2014, at the Kamloops Hospice Association. She was born on June 10, 1924 in Rosthern, SK.
Genie married Andre Savidan of St. Isadore de Bell, SK in 1944. Together they created a life of memories that spanned 51 years. Andre preceded her in death on September 27, 1995. Genie was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) church and had an unwavering faith in God. She truly loved her family and friends. She took joy in spending time with each of her children and their families. Genie was extremely passionate about her family history and spent many hours researching her family tree. Beth Ducharme (Mom aka Great) of Kamloops BC passed away on February 17, 2014 at the age of 86.
Mom was pre deceased by her loving husband Slim Ducharme June 7, 1989; they were married for 43 beautiful years. They have 2 daughters Patti (Philip) Myran of Kamloops and Cheryl (Gary) McGillis also of Kamloops, two wonderful grand children Greg (Shelly) Ducharme of Kamloops and Gordon McGillis also of Kamloops. Mom has 1 Great Grand child Jocelyn, who was a constant joy for her.
Doug Boyle (great nephew) father of Danny Boyle (great great nephew) and his wife Reagan and their oldest son Gavin and 2 daughters Amelia, Jasmine all within the last year became a huge part of Moms life. She had not seen Doug and Danny for over 2 decades. For her to be re connected to them and their lovely family was a reminder of what she had been missing from her childhood home Haida Gwaii. Mr. Walter Christ, resident of Chase BC, passed away in KamloopsBC on Thursday February 6, 2014 at the age of 86 years. He was predeceased by his wife Stephanie and his brother Bruno (Germany). He is survived by his sister Erna (Germany), his son Karl, and his granddaughter Mikayla. Walter was born in Buchelsdorf Germany, on May 22, 1927. He came to Canada in
1951 and settled in Calgary, Alberta with his wife Stephanie. He worked as a contractor (carpenter/bricklayer) in Alberta until 1963. He then moved to Chase, BC where he continued his construction business, building numerous homes and commercial projects in the Chase/ Shuswap area until retiring in 1993. Walter was well known in the community and was a long time member of the Chase Lions Club. He took up wood carving in his retired years and enjoyed meeting up with the members of the local woodcarvers group.
There will be no formal service by request. In lieu of flowers donations in Walter’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada or to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation.
Hazel Cameron Thompson (nee Blaik) of Kamloops Passed away on January 25, 2014
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Ron (Susan) of Kamloops, Susan Willson of Kamloops, Michael (Rebecca) of Columbus, Ohio, Robert, Michael (Lara), David, Wendy (Tim), Jennifer, Meghan, Alan and Ashlee (Anthony),great grandchildren Mila-Jean, Jacob, Joshua, Matthew, Brianna and Autumn.
Hazel will also be remembered by several cousins in Edinburgh and the Isle of Man.
She was predeceased by her husband Bob, her sister June, mother Isabel
stepfather Tom and father David.
Hazel, the youngest daughter of Isabel and David Blaik, was born on a family vacation in Chettingham England. She was raised in Edinburgh, Scotland attending St. Margaret’s Boarding School in Stirlingshire until the war forced its closure and a return to school in Edinburgh.
