God looked around his garden and he found an empty place.  He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face.  He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.  God’s Garden must be beautiful, as he always takes the best.

With broken hearts we sadly say goodbye to Sheila Schock on January 20, 2022.

KENNETH MOFFETT 1941 — 2022

KENNETH MOFFETT

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Vernon Moffett on January 19th, 2022 with his devoted family by his side. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Pat, daughter Tracy (Mark), son John (Jamie), granddaughter’s Carsen and Sophia, grandson Ty, sister Janet (Andre) Arnould, sister-in-law
Donella Easter, brother-in-law
Gerry Chiulli and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ken was predeceased by his father John Moffett, his mother Nora Moffett, father-in-law Dave Chiulli, mother-in-law Eva Chiulli, sister Jackie Inglis, brother-in-law Bill Inglis, brother-in-law Raymond Chiulli, brother-in-law Barry Easter, and nephew Billy Inglis.

Ken was born on May 9, 1941, in Vancouver, B.C.  He spent his youth in Hedley, B.C. Nelson, B.C. and Uranium City, NWT.  When Ken was 20 years old he moved to Fort St. John, B.C. to play hockey for the Flyers. Ken was a fast skating forward and was known to be a tough opponent.  It was here he met the love of his life Pat Chiulli.  They were married on July 3, 1965.  The newlyweds moved to Kamloops where Pat was a teacher and Ken worked in construction.  He coached several minor hockey and baseball teams over the next few years. Pat and Ken settled in Westsyde where they lived for the next 56 years and raised their two children Tracy and John.

In 1968 Ken built his first house on Pine Springs Road.  This started his company K&P Construction which is still active today. He had a long-lasting and well-respected building career which included building many homes and developments in Kamloops and area.  Ken was honoured with a Lifetime Community Builder award by the City of Kamloops in 2014 for his visionary contribution to the housing industry.  He was always very proud to look up at the lights of Kamloops and know he had a hand in building many of those homes.

Ken lived an active and interesting life. He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and hiking the hills around Kamloops. He kept his passion for hockey alive and played men’s league hockey and later for the Kamloops Old Timer Chiefs. Golfing also held a special place in his heart and he perfected his own unique golf swing. His favourite vacation spots were Hawaii, Palm Springs and the cherished family property on Kamloops Lake.

Ken was a proud husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. His family was everything to him and he will forever be missed.

Special thanks to Dr. Chip Bantock and the doctors and nurses who lovingly cared for him on 6 North at Royal Inland Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the RIH Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

CARL ANTHONY RAUCH 1935 — 2022

CARL ANTHONY RAUCH

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Carl Anthony Rauch on January 13, 2022.  Surrounded by his loving family, he left his earthly home to an even better adventure.

Carl was the family patriarch, a wise and kind leader who was intensely proud of his family.  He enjoyed socializing with friends and neighbours too.  Carl loved his cars and trucks, pursued snowmobile riding, quad riding, fishing, travelling, whittling and tipping up that occasional beer too.

Carl was born in Invermere August 2, 1935, youngest son of Anton and Maud Rauch and brother to May, Alyce and Ina.  His first jobs were in Forestry and Highways in the Invermere area.  Carl met the love of his life Sharon Claire and was married September 14, 1963.  The family was complete when his two daughters Corrine and Janet were born.  This young family moved from Invermere to Logan Lake in 1971 when Carl joined Lornex Mining Corporation which later became Highland Valley Copper.  Carl enjoyed his work as a heavy equipment operator and retired in 1999, after a fulfilling 28-year career.

Left to mourn Carl’s passing are his wife Sharon,

Daughter Corrine Elynuik (Terry) Granddaughter Kassandra Gray (Chris) Great Granddaughter Evelyne and Great Grandson Maverick and Grandson Jake (Mikaela).

Daughter Janet Yakubowich (Tim) Grandson Garrett (Katie) Granddaughter Kelsey Lattin (Luke) Great Granddaughters, Jae-Lynn, Oakley and Avery.

Carl made such an impact on his friends, his neighbours and yes, even his acquaintances.  His friendly wave while he walked his dog Sadie or relaxed in his chair in his driveway will be remembered by all.

The family is planning a Celebration of Life for Carl at the Church on The Hill Logan Lake on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 1pm.  They look forward to reminiscing with you and hearing your stories.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, they welcome you to contribute to:

Highland Valley Outdoor Association,
Logan Lake Fire Department
